Hi, I’m Vítor Zanoni. I’m 33 years old, and I started my career in IT before terms like Cloud, DevOps, and SRE became buzzwords. Back then, being a Linux/Unix administrator was considered one of the peaks of a technical infrastructure career.

I started this journey at Red Hat in 2012 and worked directly with Operating Systems, Infrastructure, and Datacenters until around mid 2019. Since then, I’ve seen Shell/Linux knowledge in general stop being recognized as a job title and become reduced to just another skill on a resume. Today, I see this same dilemma happening again, but in an even broader way across all areas, because of the fast and accelerating evolution of AI technologies.

It has never been a secret to anyone who chose a career in IT that studying would become something constant and endless. Well, here we are, keeping ourselves up to date with System Design, Architecture, obviously AIOps in general, and soon enough, whatever new technology or tool comes next.

Being part of the construction of all this is amazing and scary at the same time, simply because the possibilities are becoming bigger and more impactful for the world.

Here, I intend to write about these topics and about things I’ve been working on and studying. The idea is to strengthen my learning process and exercise the habit of sharing my two cents on a few subjects.

What I do

I’m an infrastructure and reliability engineer, currently solving infrastructure challenges and delivering solutions at o9 Solutions.

I’ve also worked as a DevOps Consultant at Pythian in Canada, as well as at major players in the Brazilian market such as C6 Bank and TIM Brasil.
